Beaches and coves
Along Poljica there are pebble and rocky spots to get into the sea. Near the shore the water shimmers from emerald to deep blue, and in the morning it's so quiet you can hear only the waves.
Walk to Marina
A path several kilometres long runs right along the shore from Poljica to neighbouring Marina. It smells of salt and pine, so it's great for a morning run or a sunset walk.
Island boat trips
Central Dalmatia has dozens of islands and bays that are easiest to reach by boat. In the nearby harbours you can rent a boat for a few hours or join an organised cruise.
Čiovo Island
From Poljica you can reach Čiovo in 15–20 minutes, by bridge, with no waiting for a ferry. The island has wild coves for a whole day by the water and is known for its especially colourful sunsets.
Krka National Park
About an hour's drive takes you to the cascades of the Krka river. Wooden walkways lead over the waterfalls and through lush greenery, making it a good plan for a day away from the beach.
Evenings by the sea
After sunset the air softens and the seaside konobas put their tables outside. It's the best time for grilled fish, a glass of wine and long conversations.
Unhurried mornings
In Dalmatia the day starts more slowly. Coffee on the balcony, a short walk to the water and a swim before the sun gets too hot.
Views from the surrounding hills
The hills around Poljica offer a wide panorama of the islands and the open sea. It's worth climbing them in the late afternoon, when the light is warmest.
